where Blind men rule
over One-eyed fools.
I walk among Harlots and Theives
adorned in Silks and Laurels,
a Race of Paper Tigers.
I see hope in the Eyes of the Damned,
Life in the sun-scorched earth,
I see Light in the Asylums of Sin.
I bow to neither the Burning Bush
nor the Golden Calf,
I tread upon the graves of fallen tyrants.
I am the Lord of my soul, the Architect of fates
I will be the Last of the Martyrs
And the First among my Nation.

eh dabba nice poem!! only de last 2 paras are a repeat of ur lod poems inspired from khalil gibran na hehehehehe lalalalalaal!!!!!
the last para's maybe similar to the gibran one bcoz i havent changed much. but stop sayin its inspired from kahlil gibran, i neve read it coz i dont kno arabic n translations always suck.. you silly cow, you're acting like a knowitall, arent you?:)
My frens say its too complicated, so heres the meanings of some terms
Lotus-eater = Person in consumerist ways. in false dreams
One-eyed ruled by blind = bad peasants ruled by even worse kings
Harlots in Silks = silk is usually for high class ppl,
Theives in laurels = laurels usually given to heroes.
so harlots & theives means fake people here
Burning bush = god appeared to moses in this form
Golden calf = an idol worshipped by his ppl when moses was away
last of the martyrs = martyrs happen in an revolution; he's the last martyr so the revolutn has ended.
first among my nation = the revolution frees the nation. so he is the first citizen
I visualized the protoganist of the poem to be disgustd with this soceity. he is going to sacrifice his life to the revolution. and he (dying) sees the new nation born before him.
Now, to boost my ego, was it any gud?[:P]
Anup, you've taken the word 'mysterious' to the next level. Your quiteness never showed there's an intellectual poet inside. Good job on hiding it dude!
Sadly, when you have friends who like to talk too much, good secrets are never hidden!
I haven't read all your work yet, and have made a mental note (by that I mean added your page in my 'favourites'!) of reading them once iphone leaves me alone!
But this one, is very nice. :-)
Nice! A few more and I can start my own cult:-D hehe do read and do post comments.. gud n bad.. cheers!
man, make it more in-the-face kind of stuff than philosophical.. we mortals cant understand the latter :)
